AC-110 AI Camera
Designing AI Surveillance UX under Embedded Hardware Constraints
AI Detection / Playback / Edge AI / Monitor UX for Real-time Embedded Systems
Project details
AC-110 is an Edge AI camera system developed for embedded surveillance scenarios. The project covered embedded monitor UI, mobile app integration, AI detection workflows, and scalable UI system design across devices.
Role
Lead UI/UX Designer
Status
Inactive but live
Year
2025 — 2026
Context
Traditional surveillance systems are primarily designed for passive recording rather than event understanding.
The core challenge of AC-110 was translating complex Edge AI capabilities — including human/vehicle detection, audio event analysis, and privacy controls — into interfaces that non-technical users could easily understand and operate.
Since the product runs on embedded hardware with limited processing resources, the UX design needed to balance: real-time performance / visibility of AI events / low interaction complexity / power-saving behavior.
Constraints & Decisions
Due to embedded Edge AI processing limitations, the Detection Overlay needed to render within strict performance constraints.
To reduce cognitive load and maintain UI responsiveness, the interaction model was simplified through:lightweight overlay rendering / edge-aligned OSD placement / event-focused visual hierarchy / reduced animation complexity.
Trade-off:
The original concept included animated object tracking indicators, but firmware resource constraints required a simplified static overlay approach to maintain rendering stability and system responsiveness.
Outcome
The AC-110 product line entered production with a unified UX framework across embedded monitor UI and mobile applications.
Deliverables included:AI detection interaction flows / Live View OSD specifications / Playback filtering UX / Power Saving interaction logic / UI specifications for firmware implementation / Packaging and visual system assets.
